What if you could see Jesus as a peer sharing the same struggles. Would it make you more confident in your belief?
Los Angeles, CA – Jesus in the Ghetto (Song/Documentary style Video) illustrates the character of Jesus and his ability to relate to the issues of the poor. The project will serve as the “Why” and give historical and cultural facts to define the TRUE character of Jesus. Sir the Baptist sought to immerse the soulful voice of Anthony Hamilton as a gift to the already profound lyrics, in order for one to feel the presence of Jesus being in their stories, homes, and most importantly their “HOODS.” This record is sure to feel like a timeless rhythm wrapped in soul. However, there’s one thing, its Gospel! Yes, this is the urban hymn that embodies the metaphors of a lyrical genius through the art of telling the TRUE story of Jesus.
The heart of the video is a scene centered around Anthony Hamilton and Sir in a cathedral style church performing. Performance shots will include, but are not limited to, footage of American Christians in their homes removing their mask and reflecting on the course of this pandemic; examples may include some holding up pictures of loved ones, who died due to COVID-19. The idea is to create a parallel between the struggles Jesus faced from his birth in Africa to his journey to the West Asian “ghettos” to the struggles faced by many believers in the heart of American “ghettos.” It is our intention to use our creative genius to bring an awakening to the reality that Jesus was human and he was raised in what society would consider the “ghetto.”
Sir says “this song will hopefully start the process of reimagining the ghetto and it’s relation to the kingdom of God.”
